Introduction to Slovenia (Geography)
Sloveniais a small developed country located in Central Europe, with a land area of more than 20,000 square kilometers (about the size of 20 Hong Kong) and a population of only 2.05 million. The capital is in Ljubljana. Adjacent to Italy, Croatia, Hungary and Austria, with the Adriatic Sea in the southwest, Slovenia is uniquely located, historically and culturally influenced by Italy and Southeast Europe. The local climate is pleasant, with a temperate climate, majestic mountains and spectacular sceneries. It has the third largest forest coverage in Europe. More than 70% of the population identify themselves as Catholics.
