Introduction to Slovenia (Economy)
Sloveniahas the economy of a large developed country, with a per capita GDP of more than 40,000 US dollars, ranking only behind Italy in Europe. Since 2004, they have joined NATO and the European Union respectively, and in 2007 they officially used the euro as their legal currency. Since 2010, it has been a member of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development.
Almost two-thirds of the country's people are employed in services, and over one-third in industry and construction. Benefiting from Slovenia’s well-educated workforce, well-developed infrastructure and its geographical location at the crossroads of major trade routes, the country’s economy is thriving and vibrant.
